Woo

What a game! Montreal vs Carolina, game two. Montreal looked good after period one, winning 3-0. But those blasted Hurricanes came back and took a 4-3 lead, then Montreal scored two quick goals before Carolina scored one with a minute and a bit left to tie it up 5-5. First overtime, nothing. Second Overtime, Micheal Ryder from the Candiens scored on a powerplay. Great game, refs were inconsistant but what can you do.

Last few nights have been great. London Knights won a big game in Overtime, and Dennis the goalie returned to his great form after a rough game 2 against the Storm. Edmonton pulled out a good solid victory, and Anaheim won later in the night.

There has been some good hockey on. I suggest you watch, if you haven't been.

Thank You Habs

Friday night was pretty bad. I'm sitting with a few friends in the unfriendly parts of Guelph, watching as my beloved Knights were trampled and beaten 7-1. If this wasn't bad enough, the beer sure was. Worst beer I have ever tasted....ever. I must say, we had some pretty kickin' seats, 7 rows behind the Knights bench. We were troopers and stayed the entire game, hoping something would break the funk the Knights seemed to be in. Didn't happen.

So rushing back to Waterloo, where my buddy Jason lives, we turned on the Edmonton-Detriot game which was in Overtime. To my dismay, the Red Wings scored a lucky (or weak) goal on Roli, and I watched team number 2 go down. 0 for 2, with one game left. Now, Anaheim vs Calgary is going to be a great series, with good goaltending. But as we started watching the second period, I noticed in the Ducks net that Giguere looked different....almost too different. In fact, it wasn't Giguere at all! It was Ilya, called into action as J.S. has a "lower body" injury. But the ducks managed to hang on, and Bryzgalov was playing pretty well. Not as well as Kipper at the other end, but come on, it's Kipper. He's pretty good. However, Calgary managed to score in overtime and they won the game 2-1. My teams went 0 for 3. Rough night.

But the Montreal Canadiens came to the rescue in fantastic fashion on Saturday night. Playing game one against Carolina, the Canadiens lit up Martin Gerber, scoring 6 times on route to a 6-1 win. Cristobal Huet, Montreals star goalie, made some big saves and ended the night with 43 saves. This got me back on track and I know my teams will come up big and win some games.

The biggest game will be on Sunday, with the Knights facing the Storm at home. I'll be in attendance, and will be looking for a different Knights team to take the ice.

Go Ducks

For years, my favourite player has been Paul Kariya, when he was playing with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. Anytime you thought of the Mighty Ducks, you thought of Paul Kariya. He was pretty amazing, and was crazy good on that 2003 Stanley Cup Finals run, even returning in game 6 to score the game winning goal after taking a horrible elbow to the head that knocked him out. Damn you Stevens!

Anyways, Kariya left after that year and joined the Colorado team and sucked it up huge, mainly cause of injuries. Then, after the lockout, he joined Nashville.

However, back in Disney Land, we have an even better player to look towards. Not only is he crazy talented, he is from Strathroy! Hometown boy all the way. Check here for a good article on him. He has become one the my favourite players and hopfully will lead the Ducks to playoff glory!!

Lets just not play the Flames first round. That wouldnt be cool. We'll know by tonight.

Hockey Tourny Results

In the first annual Silverstangs tournment, we finished 5th place. We didn't do great, but we didn't do bad either. We had fun. Our record was 0-3-1 but I think it might of changed had David not gotten injured in the first game. As I recall, the score was 1-1 and once he was out, we ended up losing 4-1. The other teams were pretty good (The grey team seemed a bit stacked) but I think the team learned alot. It was a great experience, and was good fun to play in an actual game.

We are looking forward to next year, where we intend on playing on Sunday to bring home some hardware (other then our participation trophies, which look rather nice).

Go Team Green!

Ps- Just so everyone knows, David dislocated his shoulder. It sounds painful, and I'm sure it is.

"What is that smell?"

You know what I hate? When your trying to watch a hockey game and you suddenly smell this horrible, disgusting scent that is only know as the "cheap" cologne guys feel they need to soak themselves in. It is just nasty, and your just covering up another disgusting smell that I chose not to discuss. Just do everyone a favour and stay home.

Go Jays Go

After a impressive win on home opening night, the Toronto Blue Jays went back to their old tricks, losing horribly. Check This for details.

I must admit, I am rather excited about this year, and will continue to check the paper to see how well they are doing. I enjoy watching Halladay pitch, cause he pretty much wins all the time over the last few years, but other than that, I dont watch the games unless I'm at the Skydome....uh...I mean....Rogers Centre. Maybe me and this guy will be able to catch a game this year, and rock out with "JayoVision" or whatever they are calling it.

Kipper and Gerber Leading The Way.

Last night was a good night for my goalies. Even though Gerber didn't win, he posted some great numbers.

Gerber - 0.00 GAA, 1000 Save%, 25MIN, No Win
Kiprusoft - 1.00 GAA, .962 Save%, 1 Win

Best two goalie punch in the fanstasy league? Or does your team have better? Would it be Lundqvist and Turco from the Tigercats? Brodeur and Vokoun from those Coke Fiends isnt too shabby either.

Either way, goalies are having better numbers then they did eariler this year.

Cheers.

Snakes On A Plane!

Wow. Here I thought my life was complete, then I witness this. Look at each one (some are golden!) Even if its not a real movie, it should be. I would watch it, and so should you. Anything with Samuel L. Jackson shooting snakes is worth our time.
