All the teams that I thought would win their series lost tonight (although Vancouver is winning at the moment) Lundqvist stole the show in Pittsburgh, man was he good. Theodore better step up his game or this series might get interesting. Its no question that Washington out played New York, but just couldn't beat Lundy.

Third period of Canucks game, winning 2-1. Too bad it has to happen in the first round. Anaheim always has that special place in my hockey heart because of past years and I always cheer for them. Although they are missing a huge part of their last Cup win (Pahlson and Moen) they still have a very experience and solid team. San Jose has constantly disapointed in past playoffs, but with Boyle and Blake on D now, they should be able to handle any team. However, Hiller has been hot for the Ducks and Nabokov has been...well...Nabokov. And that is not a compliment. With studying both teams, I gotta stick with my teams.
Anaheim in 7

2 Detroit vs 7 Columbus
One huge Detroit fan that I know said that the only team he didn't really want to face in the first round was Columbus, because they always seem to find a way to beat them. Although I am not a Detroit supporter (at all), its hard to bet against them in this round. Columbus will get some valuable experience and will get to see how a great coach changes his team into a playoff team. While Detroit's weakness lies in net, it wont be enough to send Detroit packing
Detroit in 6 (with Mason stealing a game or two)

3 Vancouver vs 6 St. Louis
Both teams came up huge down the stretch which makes this series interesting. However, Vancouver finally has a second line and some pretty good grinders, which will make the difference in this series. Their defense is good, and if you get by them, you got to face Roberto, who will be out to prove he can handle the pressure. (Which I'm sure he can)
Vancouver in 6

4 Chicago vs 5 Calgary
Another great series with two evenly matched teams...if Calgary was healthy. If Calgary wasn't so cleaned out, I think they would handle Chicago easily. However, with the injuries they have, its going to be a great series. I like both teams, and its rough to see one knocked out in the first round.
Calgary in 7

Who knows how it'll work out. Hockey has become very unpredictable but its still fun to try!

NHL Playoffs 2009!

Tomorrow marks day one of the Nhl playoffs, and while I'm no pro, I will go out on a limb and make my predictions.

Lets start with the East

1 Boston vs 8 Montreal

Oh man. My team that I root for day in and day out is the Montreal Canadiens, and boy, this won't be easy. Boston has size, skill and speed, a pretty solid d and a heck of a goalie in Thomas, but Montreal is Montreal, and I can't rule them out. Last year, it was total reverse and Boston put up a pretty good fight, which I think Montreal can do this year.
Montreal in 7

2 Washington vs 7 NY Rangers
This seems like the easiest series to pick out of the east. Washington has tons of skill up front and will use last year's playoff run as experience to improve on this years version. The only way the Rangers win is if Lundqvist steals 4 games for them.
Washington in 5

3 New Jersey vs 6 Carolina
This is a tough series to pick because you have to wonder what team shows up for the Devils. Carolina is on a huge roll and will keep rolling into the playoffs, riding on the back of Cam Ward, who has played pretty good in the last bit of the season and already has a Cup. However, the Devils do have the best goalie in the game, and have a pretty potent offense up front. This series could go either way
Carolina in 6

4 Pittsburgh vs 5 Philly
Huge battle! Huge! I like both teams, and as always, I look towards the goaltending. Both have inexperience goalies who only really have one good year under their belts. Although Pitts have both Crosby and Malkin, Philly just seems to have more scorers and play a more phyiscal game that is required in the playoffs
Philly in 7

Hockey Pools

Ahhhh...another year, another successful hockey pool. I have defended my LBFF championship from last year and finished first with a score of 134 points, 17.5 more then the second place team. Booya! But wait, there is more! I decided to join another pool, this one including some friends from Kings college, and I won that as well. This was alittle closer as I won by only 8 points, and for a good amount of time, my team sat in 4-6 spots. But we had a late season push, and with the help of Shane Doan, Anton Babchuk and Marian Gaborik, we were able to push by the others and come out on top!

Sure, I'm bragging. But these hockey pools are tough to win, and I might not win again, so when I win two in one season, I'm gonna brag. The crowd that made its way down to support Toronto was in the thousands. We started the grill, and had a good old fashion tailgate party to start the party. Sure, we had a van and not a truck, but it didn't matter. The crowd kept growing and soon the entire parking lot was covered in Red jerseys.
We soon ventured into the stadium, and into our seats. We were surrounded by Columbus fans, but it gave us a perfect view of the massive Red blob that formed behind the visitors net. We could hear the chanting, seen the streamers being thrown, and watched as a massive Toronto FC flag engulfed a third of the fans. Once halftime hit, we left our post and went with the rest of the fans behind the net. We started chanting, singing, and having a blast. It was amazing, the atmosphere and the energy that the Toronto FC fans have. I feel honoured to be a part of it.
As I wake up this Monday morning, still feeling the pain of a sore throat, I know that there will be more games in the future that I will be attending.

"TFC!" Clap Clap Clap. "TFC!" Clap Clap Clap. Go Toronto FC!

Oh ya, Toronto lost 2-0.

Laying the beat down

Wow. I think he might have just kissed his NHL career away (unless Philly drafts him)

Yikes its hot

If you like explosions, go here. It was also my first time playing in net during the summer time, as I have been spending time on defense with this guy. It was good to be back in net. I miss making the big glove save, as I did last night. It was dub the "Tsn Turning Point" as I stopped the coach from in close with the big trapper. Mind you, I didn't have much else to do, as my defense did most of the work, keeping most shots to the outside. Honestly people, its not that flippin' hard. Usually I just get a bit annoyed at these people but go about what I am doing, but not today. Today it almost caused me to get in an accident. Driving in the left lane, this car ahead of me starts to brake, and I have no idea why. So I start to slow down, then the car slams on its breaks, forcing me to cut into the other lane to avoid this doucebag, because he was too lazy to tell me he was turning. Likly, the other car in the right lane was a bit behind so I didn't cause him any issues.

People, signal lights are on a car for a reason. So far, Miller has been balls for the team. Terrible. Garbage. And Benched too. Manny F. gets hurt, which doesn't make me mad, he was just playing well. Vokoun can't seem to win, and Nabokov gets pulled every other game. Its rough. My goalies, the strong point of the team, have failed everyone. Failed teammates, upper management, the fans, and even put top 4 almost out of reach. If not for the heroics of Andy McDonald, who came in on fire and started producing immediately, we might be in more of a jam. Sheldon Souray, brought in for his PPG and PIMS, finally had a big night, drawing 27minutes in penalties. A big night for PIMS, the guys been amazing points-wise since he joined the team.

So as of Feb. 2, we sit in 5th, with 70 points. We're going to make a push for 4th place, but we need the rest of the Hosers to step it up.

Cheers

One More Thing About The All-Star Game...

Where was Paul Kariya? Granted, we are in 5th, with 68.5 points as of January 19, but its not first. Granted, we were in last place for about 3 weeks at the start of the season, but great trades by GM Stinky Pete has led us to a respectable position.
Now, we do have a few new faces that need to be presented. Last week, a mega deal went down where our second round draft pick, yes, the one and only, Ilya Kovalchuk, and Tim Thomas were traded for Ryan Miller and Shane O'Brien. Now, Miller has played two games, one win, one loss, but has respectable numbers. He is also playing on one of the leagues best teams in Buffalo, so he should be a great asset to the team. O'Brien was brought in to clean up some of the mess that has been left by Joe Corvo in the +- department, and add a few PIMS in the meantime. Oh ya, Corvo has been let go in order to bring in Brett Clark, a teammate to fellow Hoser J.M. Liles, who had to be put on IR with a broken foot.
The Hosers would also like to welcome Tomas Vokoun and Marian Gaborik back as they have spent a considerable amount of time on the IR. Gaborik's goal scoring will hopefully fill the void left by Ilya and Vokoun will team up with Miller, Manny Fernandez and Evgeni Nabokov to form the leagues best goaltending group.
UPDATE: ***Quick press release, happening only a few minutes ago, Brian Gionta, a winger for the NJ Devils, has been traded for Shea Weber, a former draft pick of the Hosers. Reports confirm that upon a physical on Weber which occurs in two days, the trade will be finalized. Team Hosers look to be building a solid D to go with the outstanding goaltending situation they have.***

Good Times

Remember when all those kids went on holidays to far away places at Christmas time? Well, now I have joined that group. I had some pretty crazy experiences on my trip to Florida, including a lot of firsts.
To start things off, I had to met Kristen in Montreal, so instead of driving down, I took a plane. I have never been on a plane before, so it was quite intense. We experience "turbulence" but that was nothing. Except maybe for the guy in the can, he went though the whole thing in there, it was quite funny. The flight lasted only 45 minutes. Everything went alright. Then we drove to Florida, and stayed in Orlando. We went to Universal the first day, and well, I had never been on a roller coaster...so the Duelling Dragons and the Hulk, where quite intense. Insanly intense. But I survived (barely).
We went to Disney for two days, and it was enjoyable. Well, most of it, until the Hollwood Hotel, this massive building that drops you 13 stories in an elavator. Yikes! Again, I survived and I have a picture to prove it. The picture, though, you must never see.
All in all, my Florida experience was amazing. Couldn't ask for more. My favourite ride was Space Mountain at Disney, and as for the 3D show, The Muppets was pretty awesome.

Wooo!

Arg!

So...Pittsburgh wins 8-4. Crosby gets 6 points. Pretty good, and I'm thinking, Ya, Malkin has to atleast get a few points. Malkin, zero points doesn't cut it. Not to mention the -2 as well. No Pims. Just crap.
Now, I shouldn't be to hard on the guy. He doesn't get to play with Crosby or anyone good. I just don't get why he doesn't play with Crosby! These two are insane together, they rack up mountains or points when together. Two reasons, that I can think of, that the coach doesn't put them together is because Malkin is a year older and maybe they think he can handle it. Hes new to the country, hes new to the NHL. Why not give him a linemate like Crosby to get him settled and happy with his surroundings. The guy fled Russia, for pete's sake, and you wont put him with the best player in the league?? The other reason, which may make sense, is the coach doesn't want to give other teams a look at what they can do together until playoff time, so they can't come up with a gameplan for it. Makes sense, but still, it hurts my hockey pool. Hurts the Hoser.

Ilya - On the ice, all the time (or so it seems)

Hockey update: I'm in 6th.

Ya, 6th is not so good. But! Considering the long weeks I was in last at the start, 6th doesn't look so bad. I have made some moves (most recent, by trading Stevie Sullivan for Sheldon Souray) and we're looking towards the top. We're looking, but not moving....yet.

Watching the Atl-Tor game tonight, I noticed Ilya Kovalchuk seemed to be on the ice constantly. Alot of powerplay time for my second round pick, which is ok, cause coupled with M. Hossa (Marian, that is) they seem to get alot of points. Well, Hossa does. Ilya is on the ice, so thats something, right? But don't get me wrong, I'm not bashing Ilya, he gets plenty of points. And for you wondering about his on ice time? 30 minutes and 6 seconds. Wow. Thats Chris Pronger time.

Go Hosers!

Hockey Pool

I haven't posted about the hockey pool yet. So far, I am in 7th. Pretty terrible, but not to shabby. Lots of time left. A big shakeup in the team happened last week, resulting in some new faces in the Hoser lockerroom. Sergie Zubov, Manny Fernandez and Derek Roy has joined the mix, bringing some good team moral to the room. Lets hope for a few good weeks. With the recent Vokoun injury, big things are being expected from Manny! However! There were reasons. The Tempest was offically taken off the road Nov. 22 and I did not wish to post before that day. The Tempest, as you might have noticed, did not die. Basically I just assumed the time would come when the Tempest would blow up. It never did! This blasted "E-Test" was the downfall of it. It happens. So the Tempest has been put down. It was a sad day. Very sad.

In brighter news, I did get a new car. A flashy, hot red Pontiac Sunfire. With the team for the last four years. Traded away last night, for pretty much nothing. It is a bit depressing in a way, because as we have come to know him this year, if he is up to bat, he will strike out. So the odd time he does come through with a hit, its big news. I'm going to miss Hinkse and his crappiness, and him striking out atleast 4 times a game, for he always made me laugh.

So I say, Cheers to Hinkse, for hitting a few dingers during his time as a Jay.

The Summer Of Pain

I don't get it. Usually, when I play soccer, I go about the games and practices and have a good time. This year? Very different. Why, might you ask? The frequent pain I have endured thoughout the year. Starting with the very first game of the year, very first half, when I sprained my left ankle playing soccer. That kept me out a few games. Next thing you know, I have this back problem (getting to much out of shape?) that has me moving much slower. However, I get these issues resolved and go back to my everyday ways.
Now, an eye infection is just waiting for the perfect time to spring and hit me. What better way then at the Godsmack concert, as my eye gets all red and infected. Woo. And its a tricky bastard, because I think it has gone away, only to come back a billion times worse in my other eye. Ya, you got me good on that one, ol' pink eye. That leaves me out of another soccer game and almost makes me miss a few baseball games.
So after this issues are fixed, and I get another two games of soccer in, we play a game that turned a bit dirty. I, with my great balance, fell awkwardly on my right hand, and cause, what looks like, a sprained thumb. I'll let you know more in a few days when it starts to bruise, which, is what my left foot as already started to do. Yes, the same left foot that I sprained earlier this year, was stepped on and is bruising quite nicely. Throw in my less painful, but still painful, knee injury, and we have one kickin' summer time blast baby! Yay!

That is all. Hopefully I will not have to rant anymore about any other injuries.

Go Jays Go.

Big Night

Last night, I had a soccer game in Strathroy against Nairn. It was pretty fun, as I potted 3 goals for my first hat trick of the season. In the process I had to miss hockey, but I was happy with the choice. Thanks goes out to Bones, who set up my second goal on a nice pass, and younger Baker, who lobbed in an amazing throw in past all their defense and I headed in past the goalie.

It was a good game, good times. Improves our record to 6 Wins, 2 loses and a tie.

Zooomr!

I noticed this post from the Sockbox over on channel 5 and thought I would give it a go.

Crazy Guys

And Away I Go!

I'm off to Ottawa for the big activities tomorrow night for Canada Day, and then heading to Montreal for the rest of the week! We were looking forward to it, and assumed the rest of London was as well, so David and I stood in line at 4:45. Well, to our surprise, there wasn't really a line. There was just a guy. We were second and third (David was second, I was third, but I later moved into second). At around 5:30ish some others had arrived, and by 6:15 there was actually a decent sized lineup. Once the doors opened at 7 and I foolishly threw out my ticket sub after the lady rip it (the guard told me to throw "it" in the garbage, and all I thought I had in my hand was the ticket, but no, I also had an empty water bottle) Once inside, we rushed to the front and stoked out some good standing room at the front of the staged. The first band on, Hinder, was actaully pretty decent, and even to the point where I thought I might purchased their cd. Might. Once they were off the stage, we waited for what seemed like another 2 hours of standing in a line waiting for Godsmack. But it was worth it. Godsmack was intense! And so was the crowd, as we fought for position along the gate. Obviously, it was their goal to crush us in order for them to move in. But I used my amazing skill to freeze time and move Danielle, David and I to safety before we all become part of a giant mullfest.
Anyways, once we moved a few rows back, we could actually hear the vocals and it was pretty cool. Godsmack played for about an hour and 40 minutes, and they can really get the crowd going. The best part was when Sully (lead singer) got on the bongos and was playing across from the other drummer. It was pretty cool. The lightning and the smoke and the crowd surfers made it a pretty entertaining night. I suggest if they come to London again, we get a few more of us and take in the show. You will not be disappointed.

Once the show was done, we headed out to Old Chicago to see what the score of the hockey game was. To our joy, we seen that Edmonton had just scored the winning goal (shorthanded to boot) in overtime and forced a game 6. Go Oilers! Bring home the Cup!

That is all for now. My ears were ringing for awhile, I got kicked in the head by one of the crowd surfers and my left eye has gone insanly red which has forced me to not be able to wear my contacts.

Keep It Reals Everybody.

And Bears!

Colbert Report tonight was pretty good. This was over the phone, so they could not see what I was wearing. Being that I have enjoyed Anaheim hockey for the past, oh, 12 years, I was confused as to what bandwagon I had jumped onto. Edmonton, they shouted at me, from over the phone. Sitting in my Ducks jersey, angry at the score (4-0 for Edmonton), I immediately order an air strike and haven't heard from them since.

All I have to say is that to jump on the Edmonton bandwagon is fine. I think every Canadian, or alteast Canadian hockey fan, should be rooting for Edmonton. If Edmonton wins, I will be going for them in the finals to take the cup. But for now, Go Ducks, lets get a win and make it a series.

Cheers to great hockey

Round Two

Alright, Round Two Starts On Friday. I'll provide my picks, and who knows, maybe they will work out.

East

Ottawa Vs Buffalo.
Crazy Series. Too much scoring from both teams. Difference? Goalies. If Miller plays great, Buffalo will win. If he doesn't, and Emery just plays good, Ottawa will win. That being, Ottawa should win, because Miller has just been "ok" so far.
Sens in 6

Carolina Vs New Jersey
Cam Ward vs Martin Brodeur. Brodeur has experience, while Ward has the hot hand. Scoring is about even, even though Elias is on a tear. This could turn out to be great series, but could flop if both teams play a boring defensive system. If Carolina takes drugs and puts Gerber back in, Jersey will win in 4. If not, and they go with Ward, he will just delay the Jersey win.
Devils in 7

West

San Jose Vs Edmonton
I'm a little bias here as I want the Oilers to win. I think they play good, hard, intense hockey and never give up. The Sharts do have Thornton and the Cheechoooooo Train which could change the series, and Marleau has been stepping it up. But I think the Oilers will believe in themselves after knocking off the Red Wings and will come though in the end. Plus, they have Roli. Enough Said.
Oilers in 6

Colorado Vs Anaheim
My second favourite team is still kicking around, after taking out the Flames in 7. The Ducks have been playing well, and have strong, balanced scoring to give the high scoring Colorado defense trouble. Colorado does have Sakic, who can changed a series on his own. But if the Ducks can stop Jarome, they can stop Sakic. Plus, Nidermayer is the best defenceman in the league.
Ducks in 6

Woo! Hockey playoffs are great!

What a week!

This years playoff has been fantastic! Great games all around, but the best were the Oil vs. the Wings. Wow, those were intense. Good Job Roli, Good Job Chris, and Good Job rest of the Oil boys, Awesome stuff! Next was the Ducks, beating out the favoured Flames in a 7 game battle. Great series as well. I wonder if those who jumped on the Calgary bandwagon will jump to those close neighbours in Edmonton. We'll see. However, I must give a shout out to my brother David, who, even though he is a Leafs fan and a Canucks fan, has been rooting for the underdog Oilers since our trip to Columbus. While most Leafs fans rooted for Calgary because they were suppose to win, he stayed with those Oil. Good Stuff Bro.

I'm going to wear my Oiler and Ducks jersey proudly after those series.

The only other series that went the wrong way was Montreal. Sadly, they lost in 6 games to the flippin Hurricanes. They tried hard, played well, and just were beated by a pretty good goalie. We'll get em next year, Huet.

And last, but not least, I finished first place in Round 1 of the Hockey Pool. I finished with 70 points, while three others tied with 68. Sure, things will likey go downhill in Round 2, but maybe if I pick better goalies, things might work out. Lets Go Brodeur and Bryzgalov! Killer B's!

Cheers!

Woo

What a game! Montreal vs Carolina, game two. Montreal looked good after period one, winning 3-0. But those blasted Hurricanes came back and took a 4-3 lead, then Montreal scored two quick goals before Carolina scored one with a minute and a bit left to tie it up 5-5. First overtime, nothing. Second Overtime, Micheal Ryder from the Candiens scored on a powerplay. Great game, refs were inconsistant but what can you do.

Last few nights have been great. London Knights won a big game in Overtime, and Dennis the goalie returned to his great form after a rough game 2 against the Storm. Edmonton pulled out a good solid victory, and Anaheim won later in the night.

There has been some good hockey on. I suggest you watch, if you haven't been.

Go Knights Go

Thank You Habs

Friday night was pretty bad. I'm sitting with a few friends in the unfriendly parts of Guelph, watching as my beloved Knights were trampled and beaten 7-1. If this wasn't bad enough, the beer sure was. Worst beer I have ever tasted....ever. I must say, we had some pretty kickin' seats, 7 rows behind the Knights bench. We were troopers and stayed the entire game, hoping something would break the funk the Knights seemed to be in. Didn't happen.

So rushing back to Waterloo, where my buddy Jason lives, we turned on the Edmonton-Detriot game which was in Overtime. To my dismay, the Red Wings scored a lucky (or weak) goal on Roli, and I watched team number 2 go down. 0 for 2, with one game left. Now, Anaheim vs Calgary is going to be a great series, with good goaltending. But as we started watching the second period, I noticed in the Ducks net that Giguere looked different....almost too different. In fact, it wasn't Giguere at all! It was Ilya, called into action as J.S. has a "lower body" injury. But the ducks managed to hang on, and Bryzgalov was playing pretty well. Not as well as Kipper at the other end, but come on, it's Kipper. He's pretty good. However, Calgary managed to score in overtime and they won the game 2-1. My teams went 0 for 3. Rough night.

But the Montreal Canadiens came to the rescue in fantastic fashion on Saturday night. Playing game one against Carolina, the Canadiens lit up Martin Gerber, scoring 6 times on route to a 6-1 win. Cristobal Huet, Montreals star goalie, made some big saves and ended the night with 43 saves. This got me back on track and I know my teams will come up big and win some games.

The biggest game will be on Sunday, with the Knights facing the Storm at home. I'll be in attendance, and will be looking for a different Knights team to take the ice.

Go Knights Go!

Go Ducks

For years, my favourite player has been Paul Kariya, when he was playing with the Anaheim Mighty Ducks. Anytime you thought of the Mighty Ducks, you thought of Paul Kariya. He was pretty amazing, and was crazy good on that 2003 Stanley Cup Finals run, even returning in game 6 to score the game winning goal after taking a horrible elbow to the head that knocked him out. Damn you Stevens!

Anyways, Kariya left after that year and joined the Colorado team and sucked it up huge, mainly cause of injuries. Then, after the lockout, he joined Nashville.

However, back in Disney Land, we have an even better player to look towards. Not only is he crazy talented, he is from Strathroy! We didn't do great, but we didn't do bad either. We had fun. Our record was 0-3-1 but I think it might of changed had David not gotten injured in the first game. As I recall, the score was 1-1 and once he was out, we ended up losing 4-1. The other teams were pretty good (The grey team seemed a bit stacked) but I think the team learned alot. It was a great experience, and was good fun to play in an actual game.

We are looking forward to next year, where we intend on playing on Sunday to bring home some hardware (other then our participation trophies, which look rather nice).

Go Team Green!

Ps- Just so everyone knows, David dislocated his shoulder. Woop :) Go Habs Go.

For The Love Of Zherdev...and Sausage Gravy (Part Two)

So as I posted early, me and 9 other great people took a trip to Columbus to take in a game and cause havoc on the place. The trip started in the morning, with me driving one car (and my brother driving it later in the trip), and Marcus driving the other. It was good times in the car, and all the way to Columbus. After finding the hotel, and leaving our stuff and having a few beers, we headed down the road to Nationwide Arena, home of the Columbus BlueJackets, and proud lovers of Rick Nash. I must say, I was taken back by the beauty of the arena, it was pretty fantastic. Once inside, we found our seats and watched the last few minutes of the warmup. The game was pretty good as well, except for the horrible goaltending of Rollison. What a goof. Hopefully he'll turn it around and start winning. Geez.
Anyways, once the game was over, we headed back to the hotel and had a few more drinks before going out for some food. I'm not going to go into detail about the resturant, because it will simply throw my brother into extreme rage.
However, on our way back to the hotel, we found Zherdev, discarded by some fool on the ground. We pick him up, and dusted him off. It was simply a picture of Zherdev's head on a stick. But we took him to the hotel, and drank with him. He's such a trooper. He came with us back to Canada, and is living among us everyday now.

The next day we went out for breakfast, because the hotel breakfast wasn't really up to par. Packaged everything? Come on people. We located a Bob Evans on the ride home, and since we wouldn't see another one for about 5 minutes, we decided to stop and have some food. I ordered some bacon and eggs, french toast and homefries. I tells you, Bob sure knows how to make bacon. Yum it was, Yum indeed. This is where we encounter Sausage Gravy. Not really sure what to make of this, we looked at each other, hoping someone would order it. Finally, stepping up to the plate, was Fil. He decided to order the S.G. and we all looked forward to it. Let me tell you, it look pretty gross. But! I decided to try it, as did Aaron. It actaully didn't taste to bad, and I'm pretty sure Fil was in heaven while eating it.

Other then that, the ride home was uneventful and we got back to london in time to watch Family Guy. All in all, it was a good trip and I look forward to the next hockey game. Hopefully this brings back some good memories for the people that were there.

Cheers To Canadian Beer

My Apologies

It has been to long since I have posted, and left you wondering what happened in Columbus. That will come soon, so for now check out this guy's link. He always has good stuff to read. I have been away from the comp and I believe it hates me now. But I blame it on the chili, that amazing, intense chili, as everytime I thought about it this week, I had to run out and buy some. Since there is no Wendys in Strathroy, it took more time then I maybe would have liked.

For The Love Of Zherdev...and Sausage Gravy (Part One)

Wow, the Columbus trip was pretty fantastic. The hockey game was great, other then the fact that the Blue Jackets won. Nationwide Arena was pretty nice, I was impressed to the max with it. Columbus is in love with Rick Nash though, every trivia question's answer was Rick Nash. It was kinda funny. We assumed first star of the game would be Nash to, but it wasn't. Weird. Since we were going for Edmonton, we all were extra loud, so loud, that the people in front of me and Brandon didn't return for the third period.
In general, it was a great first NHL game.

I'll explain more tomorrow, when I'm feeling better. Turns out Waterloo didn't one, so we traveled the distance to Kitchener and watched the "Rangers" play. Turns out the almighty London Knights were playing against them, and just as luck would have it, we both had on our Knights jersey. Craziness eh. Those ranger fans sure hate London folk. But we won 6-3, so we laughed.
Now my brother (and Kinger) decided to test their luck and went to a game in Kingston that featured the Knights vs the Frontenacs (read his blog, check it on the links). Kingston fans were so angry at him (and Kinger) that they designed contests that only Kingston fans could win so they could feel good about themselves. Disgusting.

This is the kind of craziness other teams go for when the Knights and their fans come to town. I can't even start to describe the horror stories me and Jay faced, so I won't. But I do believe they are come from being jealous.

Now for the craziness at Sockworld

Anyone that wants to get a free iPod, I suggest you head over to Sockworld (go to my links for the site) to see how he pulled it off. This crazy bugger got an iPod in the mail. As you will read, they have become good friends (and maybe even lovers). I'm sure he wont show me the iPod since I rejected his offer to help him out back in the day to win one (even though I guess Chris didn't need it). Ha!

I'll soon start linking the blogs in my posts, but for now, I'm lazy. Peace.

Day Off

So along comes 10 O'Clock and the bossman calls saying I have the day off. Waah? A day off, on a Thursday? Crazy times we live in. So I decided to get something done, and I blogged. Blogged? Or Posted? Whatever the term you want to use, all I have to say, I got something done today and it shows.

Anyways. I haven't check my fanstaty hockey pool for a few days, and noticed that our stay in Third place was shortlived after the break. Bogus, I say. Should we trade? Probably not, but the loss of Mr. Jason Spezza hurts team moral. It was all done in bettering the team, but maybe not at these costs. We look to have a better weekend to get back in the hunt for first.

Also, Mr. Bertuzzi is up for trade. For anyone who doesn't know, I am one of 7 members of the LBFF league. Currently, I am in third, but have high hopes to come out on top. The Kinger's St. Pats have a slight lead, but with Mr. Hasek getting himself injured, his team will crumble. Hopefully. We will soon see. Just have to keep those pesky Tigercats behind us. Where is this going, you ask? All these players are on my hockey pool, and with the Hosers sitting pretty in 3rd, we need these players to step it up. And you know you want a link to your site to appear on here.

Let's go Canada!

First Post

This will be a basic post, my first blog entry. From the suggestion of my brother, I decided to create one. It will be full of hockey posts, Tempest posts and of course, Fantasy Hockey Pool posts. Ever!

So to everyone, have a good one!
